Leadership Team

 

Quinn Goretzky, CEO

Quinn brings over 20 years of experience in technology development, finance, international business, stakeholder engagement, government and the energy industry to Rogue7. In a varied career with the Government of Alberta, Quinn led both regulatory and operational improvements of Alberta’s electricity metering and billing to leading the development of data driven international marketing strategies and performance management of Alberta’s international offices. During his tenure at the Alberta Research Council, Quinn led a national team, involving 5 provincial research agencies, in developing a unique algal growth system for capturing and converting carbon. He led technical reviews of nuclear power, energy storage and geological storage while raising nearly $20 million for clean energy technology projects. Through client engagement Quinn conceptualized Rogue Intuition for the liquid pipeline industry. Quinn has also completed a Masters in International Trade Policy and Master in Business Administration. Quinn graduated from the Executive Program at Singularity University.

Robert Donovan, VP Research & Development

Robert has over 20 years of experience architecting and developing large systems for banks, pharmaceuticals, telco’s, rail, and oil & gas. Beginning with a flying start (aviation instruction and commercial flying), Robert has spent the last 8 years focusing on research on the development of high availability distributed systems as they relate to large data sets as well as large numbers of users. This has naturally led to the interesting subject of how mature ML solutions can be rapidly developed and integrated into industrial environments. In his spare time Robert volunteers his underwater skills assisting a University of Alberta submersible Autonomous Robotics Vehicle Project. (AVRP).   

Aaron Luchko, Machine learning lead

Aaron has over 10 years-experience as a software developer and more than 5 years’ experience developing industrial automation software. Building software critical to both operations and safety. He has worked directly with clients to determine their business and operational needs and translated those into operation. He was co-founder and CTO of a previous start-up and has a Master’s of Science in Computing Science.

Michael Milner, advisor

Michael is an Engineering graduate from the University of Alberta with 10 years of experience leading the design and development of industrial automation software projects, including numerous SCADA deployments in mission critical environments around the world. In 2018 his work was recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMINAC) as the “Innovation and Research” Project of the Year, and in 2020 was invited to present at the Global Energy Show for his research on pipeline leak detection using machine learning. Michael is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta and has a Master of Engineering with a specialization in Software and Intelligent Systems and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Buff Bowen, Board Advisor

Buff is a serial entrepreneur with over 37 years experience creating, operating and selling tech businesses. Buff founded American Computer Resources, Inc. in 1983 with $1,000, selling an aggregate of nearly $1 billion of IBM PC equipment through five company-owned offices/warehouses in Germany, Denmark, Australia, England (all sold) and the United States through a network of 5,000+ channel partners across 100+ countries. He has founded several other successful companies and is a youth football quarterback coach that has seen his athletes progress to tier 1 college programs and the NFL.

Mark Taylor, Board Advisor

Mark Taylor has 35 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry and the regulator/government policy area. Prior to forming Taylor Energy Advisors Mark served in various position at the Alberta Energy Regulator including, Executive Vice President of Operations, Sr VP Climate Policy Assurance, VP Closure & Liability and VP Industry Operations. Mark led collaboration with regulators across Canada and around the world in developing effective regulations. Prior to joining the AER Mark held numerous positions with Amoco, BP, Alberta Energy Company and Encana. Mark has led teams responsible for the early development of many of the unconventional oil and gas resources in Western Canada. Mark is a P. Eng. with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
